Paul’s practice is dedicated to family and criminal law. He handles all aspects of family law including prenuptual agreements, simple support matters, child custody matters, divorce and equitable distribution. He is particularly sensitive to the fact that family law matters involve more than mere legal work and that its outcome will profoundly affect both family and individuals for the rest of their lives.
His criminal practice is extensive and covers all matters from speeding tickets and summary offenses, DUI’s, domestic disputes, drug offenses, simple and aggravated assaults to homicides. Since starting in the Public Defender’s Office of Allegheny County, Paul has handled thousands of cases from initial appearance at the Preliminary Hearing to final resolution via plea, bench or jury trial, including appeals and Post-Conviction Relief Act Petitions. He believes that no two cases are alike, and those accused of an offense must not be treated in the “cookie-cutter” manner the Commonwealth so often attempts to use.
While in law school, Paul clerked for the Public Defender’s Office of Allegheny County and received both the Community Service Award and a CALI award for Land Use Planning.
